About the Alliance

The Colorado Wildlife Alliance is comprised of volunteers from all walks of life and all corners of Colorado. We are united in our passion for wildlife and our vision of wild animals being managed for healthy ecosystems. To achieve this goal we work within the current wildlife governance framework to advocate for wildlife-friendly laws and policies, and within our communities to facilitate wildlife coexistence. We believe that wildlife should be managed for wildlife. If you agree, we hope you will join the Colorado Wildlife Alliance today.

COLORADO WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT

Did you know that right now Colorado's wild animals are managed specifically for special interest groups, not for their own health or ecosystem benefits? Policy recommendations, while informed by science, are based on human needs and interests.

Often, decision-making bodies will disproportionately weigh the desires of traditional human stakeholders, like folks who buy hunting and fishing licenses or outfitters and livestock producers, over non-consumptive use groups and ecosystem health. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Drained in 2024 for zebra mussel eradiation, the lakebed now sits empty, exposing nearly 58 years of trash and other debris. The empty lake has given us the opportunity to clean up years of filth, removing cans, glass, and other trash. Tacos provided after!
